What is POP and IMAP?
POP and IMAP are two different methods for accessing email.
POP means that to access your emails it downloads emails off the server and then deletes them, so that emails only live on the device you have accessed them from. While IMAP always keeps emails on the server and accesses them that way, meaning you can view the same emails across multiple devices.
To check whether your email is POP or IMAP the information is usually stored in the Email Account section of your mail client. If you are swapping between the two methods make sure to create a back up of your emails first to be safe. Please contact us if you are unsure how you want to set up your email.
