Updating Email Account Settings on Outlook (Classic)

How to go and update email Kiwi Internet mail settings on Outlook (Classic).

Step 1 – Open Account Settings

  1. Open Outlook (Classic)
  2. Click File
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. Click Account Settings again
  5. Select the affected email account
  6. Click Change

Step 2 – Open Advanced Settings

  1. Click More Settings
  2. Go to the Advanced tab
  3. If prompted, enter your existing email password

Step 3 – Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Update the IMAP settings exactly as below:

  • IMAP Server: mail.<yourdomain> (Eg: mail.kiwilink.co.nz)
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption Method: SSL/TLS

Step 4 – Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

  1. SMTP Authentication
    1. Open the Outgoing Server tab
    2. Tick:
      o ☑ My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
      o ☑ Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  2. SMTP Server Details
    1. Back in the Advanced tab, set:
      • SMTP Server: mail.<yourdomain> (Eg: mail.kiwilink.co.nz)
      • Port: 465
      • Encryption Method: SSL/TLS

Step 5 – Save and Test

  1. Click OK
  2. Click Next
  3. Wait for the account test to complete
  4. Click Finish

Important Notes

  • Do not change any settings other than those described above
  • Always use your existing email password
  • If your domain has its own mail hostname configured, use: mail.yourdomain.com
